Le Floc is a traditional aperitif of the Armagnac region.
This sweet wine comes from a Gascony recipe of the XVIIth century;
it is prepared every year in January, after distilling, by mixing
the new grapes musk with a third of a Bas-Armagnac brandy. Regulated
and controlled by the seal of origin, it is marketed the following
year.
It is much appreciated for its flowery flavour, and must be served
fresh,
either as an aperitif or as a wine with puddings.
It will create a surprise during a meal and work wonders with foie
gras or on a melon …
It must be drunk chilled, neat or accompanied by a lemon zest, or
sparkling water.
